QPS is continuing our exceptional growth and hiring for a newly created Senior Underwriter role in our London based team in one of the fastest growing and most profitable divisions within QBEs Insurance Division . QPS offering provides broad coverage across broker facilities consortia / MGA platforms and algorithmic underwriting within multiple product lines and territories. Our portfolio solutions team has expanded from just 1 to 12 members in the past 4 years reflecting our commitment to growth and excellence. Your Role:
- Be instrumental in the review and analysis of both the existing portfolio as well as individual facilities / accounts to ensure continued profitability throughout the market cycle and promote both organic and nonorganic growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including customers brokers business partners and colleagues to maximise influence
- Participate fully and use your expertise to shape and develop strategy knowledge and best practice
- Follow the annual business plan for the portfolio and its context to be able to make decisions appropriately
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
- Adhere to underwriting standards instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
- Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively and appropriately
About You:
- Notable underwriting experience either in an open market reinsurance or binders capacity.
- Ability to transfer individual line of business underwriting skills / experiences to a broader set of insurance problems. Specific portfolio underwriting experience is not required.
- Clear ability to build rapport and credibility with varying stakeholders within a marketfacing role
- Data analysis skills with the ability to identify manipulate and analyse large datasets in order to help make underwriting decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to produce detailed reports at various levels
- Good organisation skills with ability to work to deadlines
- Flexible approach and ability to recognise and adapt to changing business requirements
