About the unit
The Neonatal ICU is a Critical Care Unit within Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital caring for newborn babies born with various conditions that havent yet been discharged to go home with their family. We build great relationships with the parents of our NICU babies since they are so frequently here at the bedside. We are the largest NICU in Michigan and care for babies from 37 counties. The NICU unit is a 108 bed unit.

Scope of work
As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health providing topnotch patient care is paramount. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider youll be performing basic nursing skills observing patients and communicating those observations to the other members of the team. Youll be a vital part of our team making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. This could include being floated to other units to assist with filling in for a shift as a safety attendant for a behavioral health patient assisting the NICU providers with circumcision procedures and assisting the Unit Secretary and Unit Aides within the NICU during breaks or gaps in the schedule.
Orientation
Orientation for the first week of employment as Nurse Tech requires classes on Monday Tuesday and Thursday from 8am4:30pm.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Experience in direct patient care is preferred
