Job Description
Assistant Professor of Business
Beginning August 2025
POSITION SUMMARY. The Francis J. Noonan School of Business Engineering and Innovation at Loras College invites applicants for a fulltime tenuretrack Assistant Professor position in Business available August 2025. The business program at Loras includes majors in Accounting Business Administration Business Analytics Finance Marketing and Sport Management as well as several related minors. These majors at the college have continued their upward trajectory and are typically some of the largest on campus.
The usual teaching load is 24 hours/credits per academic year although firstyear faculty have a 21credit load. The precise courses taught will depend on the candidates background and the needs of the business programs although there is a strong preference for candidates with business human resource leadership logistics and/or management expertise and the ability to teach a variety of such courses (visit: to find a full list of courses in the majors and minors). Development of new major electives in line with the candidates knowledge and experience is welcomed. The successful candidate will be an individual committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. An M.B.A. or Masters degree in analytics business economics or related field is required. A doctorate in analytics business economics or a related field is desirable. Collegelevel teaching experience preferred. Industry experience is a plus.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ENGINEERING AND INNOVATION. The Noonan School of Business Engineering and Innovation consists of 30 fulltime faculty members and offers majors in Engineering Mathematics Finance Analytics etc.
THE COLLEGE. Founded in 1839 Loras College is a Catholic primarily undergraduate liberal arts institution that includes preprofessional and career preparation programs as well as several graduate programs. THE COMMUNITY. Loras Colleges 60acre campus is located on one of Dubuques highest bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa Illinois and Wisconsin about 3 hours west of Chicago. Dubuques population is approximately 60000 and its nineteenthcentury architecture is woven into limestone bluffs and provides a picturesque backdrop to the river landscape. Many residential and commercial areas have been designated as historical districts to preserve Dubuques unique heritage. Its strong education base supports numerous cultural activities and in addition there are sporting events shopping facilities schools and churches that are convenient to its residents. The climate has marked seasons with a comfortable summer cool spring and fall and a winter that encourages a variety of sports that have in recent years attracted a growing tourism industry.
