Job Duties Outlined:
Provide services as a NeuroOphthalmologist comprising of comprehensive clinics and surgery days
Participate in the didactic teaching program including supervising medical students and residents
Participate in the shared rotation of call coverage inpatient consults and JayDoc clinics
Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with patients as monitored by the hospitals patient experience survey.
Serve on departmental committees and provide other service to the School of Medicine and the University as needed
Participate in clinical research and scientific presentations at national/regional meetings as appropriate with academic track
Provide clinical and surgical services to the VA and/or other sites under Professional Services Agreement with The University of Kansas Health System
Required Qualifications:
Education: Medical Doctorate or equivalent degree board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology and successful completion of a surgical NeuroOphthalmologist fellowship
Work Experience: Licensed in the State of Kansas of eligible for licensure in Kansas experience in a clinical and surgical NeuroOphthalmologist practice and OR settings
Skills: Required: Strong organizational skills ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously ability to manage competing and shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Work Experience: Academic background involving teaching with interest in clinical or basic research is preferred. Successful experience in growing own research programs with the ability to obtain funding from public and private sources is desired.
