Do you want to use your systems engineering skills to make a difference in the world of Cardiology Bardy Diagnostics is an exciting highgrowth organization within Baxter with outstanding and compelling products looking for the right Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to help us achieve our mission. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background spanning hardware software mobile and cloud technologies with a deep understanding of medical device regulations and standard processes.

Baxter is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join the R&D team at our Bellevue office. In this role you will be responsible for driving the development and integration of complex endtoend medical device systems that involve wearable devices with sensors mobile applications software algorithms cloud software applications user portals and gateways and data pipelines. You will apply systems engineering principles throughout the entire product lifecycle from concept and design to verification validation and product launch.

What youll be doing:

  • Lead the definition and capture of system architecture requirements and specifications for endtoend medical device systems ensuring seamless integration and interoperability between wearable devices mobile applications and cloud software applications.
  • Define document and manage system requirements across all components of the endtoend system ensuring traceability and alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee comprehensive test plans and protocols to verify and validate system performance safety and security across the entire endtoend ecosystem.
  • Evaluate system integration points and lead the team in integration planning and testing.
  • Develop comprehensive system models risk analyses and mitigation strategies addressing the unique challenges of each component in the endtoend system.
  • Work with development engineers to analyze system performance reliability and data integrity across the entire data pipeline from wearable device data collection to cloud storage and processing.
  • Act as a SME for project teams in applying systems engineering standards and best practices to the Baxter Product Development process.

What youll bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Biomedical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in systems engineering with a significant focus on connected medical devices or other complex endtoend systems involving hardware and software integration.
  • Proven success in leading endtoend systems development particularly in the medical device or healthcare industry with the ability to work across teams to build consensus and drive complex systems to completion.
  • Experience leading mentoring and coaching engineers to grow design knowledge and standard processes in systems engineering.
  • Proven expertise in systems modeling requirements management risk analysis verification and validation with a strong understanding of medical device regulations quality systems and data privacy regulations.
  • Broad technical knowledge encompassing hardware (embedded systems and sensors) software (algorithms cloud and mobile applications) and data engineering with experience in requirements definition flow down management validation and verification practices.
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills with experience converting complex technical business and regulatory requirements or challenges into clear and actionable strategies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate and work effectively in diverse multifunctional teams.
  • Autonomous selfstarter with a culture of collaboration thorough with strong organization and time management skills able to multitask across a diverse scope of responsibilities projects and people.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120000 $165000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location skills and expertise experience and other relevant factors.This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
