The Release of Information (ROI) Director is responsible for overseeing the management of the release of information function by ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations internal policies and other applicable laws. Directs tasks related to disclosing protected health information (PHI) from Select critical illness recovery hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals in addition to hospital based outpatient clinics. Acts as liaison with third party ROI vendor local hospital administration and legal department. Directs staff training coaching and support identifies and assesses issues and seeks prompt resolution and provides staff guidance in order to meet internal standards performance and productivity. Performs quality reviews and analysis to support internal processes and employee performance. Assist with staff development retention and selection. The role requires understanding interpreting and applying patient privacy regulations to ensure information release is compliant with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies.

Provides oversight guidance and direction of ROI workflows to assure accurate and timely management of requests and inquiries for patient health information received by mail fax or phone for paper or electronic medical records.
Establishes productivity and quality measures related to operations and workflow efficiencies to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards.
Implements and ensures compliance with ROI policies and procedures and applicable regulation.
Identifies training and development needs as well as assists with training and orientation as needed.
During high demand periods directs management of workflow to ensure maximum productivity and quality makes adjustments as needed.
Generates and analyzes various management reports. Shares reporting at various levels of the organization.
Requires strong critical thinking skills and performs quality checks to ensure accuracy and timely releases.
