Job Description
The Forecasting Demand Planner IIIis responsible for the development and maintenance of demand plan of assigned finished goods considering product lifecycle management while balancing network demands with supply capabilities to maintain target stock levels and support on time shipments to customers. The position works closely with planning functions procurement and distribution to align production plans with company goals connected to inventory management and maintaining low levels of obsolescence.
This position supports ourAir Division based inLewisville Texas. This is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify relevant demand trends and portfolio impacts leveraging development of data analytics as well as new product forecast refinement
- Proactively identify supply constraints and propose solutions
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate inventory prebuilds with Manufacturing to compensate for periods of capacity limitations
- Generate plan on a regular basis and communicate potential inventory or customer service gaps or risks to cross functional partners
- Work with the Supply Chain to identify opportunities for improvement related to capacity planning productivity and plan attainment metrics through Continuous Improvement efforts as well as planning system parameters
- Leads crossfunctional product customer and project calls to communicate align and optimize capacity and inventory plans with operations
- Evaluates history working with operations to establish opportunities to increase production on installed equipment to address growth and new business wins
- Leads the Portfolio Management Review consensus process including taking into account inputs from statistical models sales and marketing insights and other analyses while collaborating with cross functional teams including commercial product management and supply chain. This position will also be responsible for managing relevant measures (KPIs) to help drive better forecast accuracy and lower error rate
- Review scrub and analyze the forecast through scrutiny of variances historical sales trends including rolling averages year over year data research of demand drivers and other customer and market related changes
- Ensure that the agreed consensus forecast is passed accurately and at the appropriate level of detail to the production planning systems on a timely basis
- Escalate any supply chain related issues for awareness and action using the correct sense of urgency
- Ability to work crossfunctionally and adapt to evolving needs of Planning and Business
- Manage various adhoc reports from large complex data sets using Excel
- Review and revise production and fulfillment plans as required by changes in the sales forecast or manufacturing schedules
- Leads and owns master data in support of efficiency and accuracy in plans
- Improvement and automation of supporting processes
- Product life cycle management
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- B.S or B.A. preferably in Operations Management Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of experience in demand planning and sales forecasting
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a high degree of comfort learning and working with networked computer systems.
- Excellent analytic skill
- Strong systematic problem solving ability
- Superior written and verbal communication
- APICS certification a plus.
