BROAD STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Entrepreneurship & Marketing Instructor shall deliver the State of Michigan Curriculum as regulated by the Office of Career and Technical Education to students in the Entrepreneurship & Marketing program for Kent Career Technical Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Interim Occupational Certificate or Occupational Education Certificate in Specialized Merchandising Sales and Marketing Operations (CIP Code 52.1999 preferred OR qualify for Annual Career Authorization Minimum of two years or 4000 hours (within last 6 years) of recent and relevant work experience in the Entrepreneurship & Marketing Industry.
- A bachelors degree in entrepreneurship marketing or a related field is required.
- Prefer experience working with high schoolage students and diverse student populations.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred (not required).
- Ability to develop and deliver the curriculum.
- Ability to develop and maintain contacts and partnerships for student internships guest speakers field trips and demonstrations.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

- Experience with or proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Experience with diverse learners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design prepare and deliver curriculum content that:
- Is in alignment with the State of Michigan and the Kent ISD/KCTC curriculum constructs.
- Supports student learning through a variety of delivery methods: projectbased learning online and in person.
- Incorporates equipment and technology current to education models.
- Supports programs focus on preparing students for postsecondary education experiences such as PBL Equity Inclusion Restorative Practices Distinguished teacher pedagogical knowledge etc.
- Incorporates crosscurricular concepts of Math English and Science.
- Maintain an instructional environment that is:
- Promotes learning opportunities for all.
- Provides for an equitable and balanced assessment of student achievement by a variety of methods.
- Promotes individual student responsibility and accountability.
- Instruct students by lecturing demonstrating and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
- Develop projectbased learning experiences and effectively integrate lab equipment into student learning and assessment.
- Assign lessons and correct homework.
- Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress record results and issue reports informing parents of progress.
- Keep attendance records.
- Remain current with reporting requirements trends and changes in CTE education.
- Create and collaborate with an advisory committee.
- Maintain a positive system of classroom management.
- Meet with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops.
- Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations assisting pupils in selecting a course of study and counseling students in adjustment and academic problems.
- Facilitate workbased learning experiences for students (field trips job shadows internships job placement).
- Promote and market the Entrepreneurship & Marketing program and overall KCTC programs.
Placement on the BA scale is required unless candidate holds a valid State of Michigan Standard CTE teaching certificate. (BA Step 15 $52802$64094/year).
- Placement on BA18 MA or MA lanes is considered after receipt of a valid State of Michigan Standard CTE teaching certificate per Master Agreement.
