Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazons world class NonRelational and Emerging Database focused technical team in Denver CO. You will be working with some of the best and brightest engineers and technical managers while also developing your skills and furthering your career within one of the most innovative and progressive technology companies anywhere.
A successful engineer joining the team will do much more than write code and triage problems. You will work with Amazons largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience. By working together on behalf of our customers we are building the future one innovative product service and idea at a time.
We are seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations have a good understanding of Linux and automation. We need engineers who understand how to both think big and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
Build deploy and monitor AWS NonRelational and Emerging Database Services (such as DynamoDB ElastiCache and Neptune) within Amazon Dedicate Cloud (ADC) regions.
Design deploy monitor and automate infrastructure tools and systems to provide a highlyavailable and resilient platform for our customers and our teams workloads.
This position involves oncall responsibilities typically about 10 days a quarter supporting AWS services in our portfolio.
A day in the life
On a typical day our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction launch a new service or feature or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support and innovate to automate operational tasks.

Associates degree or Cloud or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
3 years of industry experience
Current active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments
Experience automating routine tasks
Experience working with highavailability distributed systems
Experience with Linux
Experience with analysis and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of agile methods
Proficiency in Bash or Python

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
