Otis is looking for a Principal Systems (Electrical) Engineer to oversee and execute all system integration activities for both new and existing elevator product programs. This role is crucial in ensuring that these programs deliver a comprehensive elevator system that fulfills customer needs as well as functional code and safety requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical engineering with experience in complex systemlevel architecture development and integration. You will also participate in product support activities where experience with root cause analysis priority assessment DFMEA DFM and other engineering tools is beneficial. Additionally the role requires handling Engineering Change Notices so a solid background in the engineering implementation process is necessary.
On a typical day you will:
Manage requirements conducting complex system integration studies and validation overseeing program timelines (specifically system tasks) and ensuring the timely delivery of all necessary systems documentation for a program.
Run performance studies costbenefit analyses prototyping test plans or code requirement studies for all affected subsystems.
Be capable of gathering elevator requirements from all stakeholders and decompose these into specific requirements for the subsystems.
Interact with multiple value streams such as supply chain field operations marketing factory support and others to ensure all requirements are met.
What you will need to be successful:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with over 10 years of experience or a Masters degree with more than 6 years of experience
Solid background in electrical engineering ranging from componentlevel development to system integration
Expertise in developing Performance Envelopes also known as Duty Tables
Control systems machines and drives integration experience
Working knowledge of dispatching and automatic rescue unit integration
Strong understanding of architecture and system interaction matrices including their development
General ability to identify and implement all applicable local and national code requirements
Experience with the engineering change implementation process
Proficient in conducting root cause analysis DFMEA and using other investigative engineering tools
Requirements Management with team and stakeholders
Strong communication and leadership skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Previous work experience with elevator control systems machines drives dispatching systems rescue systems and electrical diagrams is preferred
Experience in implementing elevator code requirements is desired
