The Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs ensures that all divisions comply with applicable federal state and provincial laws and regulations maintaining continuous operating approvals. This role also leads efforts to develop and influence regulatory policies impacting the delivery of higher educational instruction and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Management: Collaborate with other Regulatory Affairs Directors to develop and maintain an inventory of compliance and regulatory requirements across major risk areas including academics career services enrollment management licensing student finance and student services.
- Operational Monitoring: Oversee operations in all departments/functions to ensure adherence to federal state/provincial organizational and divisional regulations and policies.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong working relationships with operating managers to assess the viability of their compliance functions and educate them on the essential components of a robust compliance program.
- Risk Assessment: Produce an annual Regulatory Quality Assurance Risk Assessment identifying compliance gaps in operating units.
- Complaint Analysis: Develop and distribute annual risk analyses for thirdparty escalated complaints providing recommendations for training and policy changes.
- Reporting Coordination: Coordinate the compilation and synthesis of quarterly Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance reviews including meeting logistics summary distribution resource coordination and action item monitoring.
- Business Practice Improvement: Recommend changes to business practices to enhance compliance with regulations and business goals.
- Process Control Development: Work with each institution or division to develop process controls that mitigate noncompliance risk exposure.
- Timely Corrections: Ensure timely and accurate corrections in areas of noncompliance reviewing proposed process changes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Direct the Regulatory Quality Assurance team in monitoring and regulatory controls development activities.
- Training Development: Lead the development and delivery of all Regulatory Compliance training.
- Policy Development: Utilize internal and external resources to develop and maintain regulatory policies influencing regulation development and internal compliance.
- Public Policy Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with public policy organizations influential in higher education regulation.
- Annual Planning: Develop and oversee of annual plans for Quality Assurance Regulatory and Policy Engagement and Regulatory Training.
- Due Diligence Support: Provide support in compliance assessment activities for federal state and provincial laws and regulations in merger and acquisition activities.
- Campus Security Authority: Serve as a designated Campus Security Authority.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a heavily regulated environment ideally within postsecondary education.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal Title IV regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Multitasking Ability: Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and oversee the of complex processes.
Additional Information :
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected salary range for this position is between $137846.78 and $241870.90. Actual pay will be adjusted based on jobrelated factors permitted by law such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
