Job Description

Adelphi is seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full time role in a school in Newcastle Delaware. The candidate should have experience in providing occupational therapy services to students who have low incidence or multiple disabilities.

Requirements:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current State of Delaware License in Occupational Therapy.
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Proficiency with electronic IEP documentation systems (experience with SELPA/SIRAS preferred).
Experience working with students with mild to severe disabilities required.
Experience within Delaware public school systems preferred.
Evidence of criminal background check clearance..
Current Mantoux tuberculin test (negative or inactive positive).

Responsibilities:
Conduct screenings and comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations.
Provide therapy services in a variety of settings: classrooms small groups individual sessions or community environments.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement therapy goals.
Prepare detailed reports summarizing evaluations therapy plans and student progress.
Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with district procedures.
Attend and participate in IEP meetings to discuss student eligibility needs goals and service delivery.
Recommend and adapt supportive equipment to enhance student access and participation.
Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding therapy progress and needs.
Work collaboratively with teachers aides administrators and other related service providers.
Adhere to guidelines for Medicaid Cost Recovery documentation.
Participate in district professional development activities including scheduled inservice days.
Apply therapy techniques to support the development of fine motor skills selfhelp skills sensory integration and use of adaptive equipment for students.
Communicate effectively with students parents and staff through strong written and verbal communication.
Complete IEP documentation accurately and efficiently using electronic systems (such as SELPA/SIRAS or similar platforms).
Design and implement innovative therapy strategies tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Actively participate as a collaborative member of multidisciplinary teams to support overall student success.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
