  • ABOUT THE ROLE:

    Join a passionate team dedicated to improving housing stability for communities in Clackamas County! As the Housing Navigation and Placement Specialist you will help individuals and families move from temporary housing shelter situations into permanent rental housing within the Metro jurisdictional boundaries. Applying an Assertive Engagement skills and a traumainformed approach you will work to empower participants to maintain permanent independent housing through acquiring income promoting physical and emotional health and building community.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Build authentic relationships and work effectively with participants and engage families in their homes and in community settings.
    • Work cooperatively with multiple agencies such as Clackamas County Fair Housing Council of Oregon attending RLRA orientations.
    • Refer Participants to services including workforce training domestic violence support and wellness resources.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers and management companies.
    • Address barriers to individual goals and objectives including (but not limited to) physical and mental health past financial and rental history substance use income development tenant education socialization substance abuse and basic needs.
    • Provide case management for participants with documented notes remote checkins and physical checkins as needed.
    • Track and maintain up to date records of expenditures and manage client assistance budget.
    • Maintain accurate and efficient physical and electronic records with respect to Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and EPHC database (Salesforce)
    • Work closely with the Program Manager and in tandem with county staff and the Supportive Housing lead.
    • Maintain confidential participant files in database/s and compliance with HIPAA El Programa Hispano Catlico and funder policies and procedures.
    • Actively participate in team projects including EPHC organizationwide team program and partner meetings.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by EPHC supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    Unless an item or section is labeled required we consider any combination of relevant work experience volunteering education and transferable skills qualifying. Please be clear and specific about how your background is relevant.

    • Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and biculturally competent.
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
    • Experience and knowledge working with a broad range of issues affecting homeless Latinos/Communities of Color.
    • Intermediate proficiency in all programs of Microsoft Office; experience with data entry.
    • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
    • Must be able to organize and prioritize work be proactive take initiative follow through and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. High attention to detail required.
    • Ability to support organizational and program specific mission and goals.
    • Must have drivers license ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency 100/300/100.
    • Satisfactory results from civil criminal and motor vehicle background check required.
    • Some of the duties will be completed through telework (video conferencing and telephone) but client meetings may require inperson onsite presence.

    COMPENSATION: $25.00$26.75 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.

    LOCATION & TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Most of the work performed by this position can be accomplished in a hybrid/remote work environment though frequent inperson meetings will be . There are times that work requires inperson onsite activities. Onsite work is located at EPHCs offices in Gresham OR. Job duties may require occasional travel and evening and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
