Job Description
On behalf of our client a highly regarded engineering consulting firm known for their technical excellence and innovative approach we are seeking a passionate and skilled Tailings Engineer (Associate) to join their growing team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering tailings and mine waste management solutions to a diverse client base across mining infrastructure and environmental sectors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support and/or lead the design and analysis of tailings storage facilities (TSFs) water dams and other mine waste containment systems
- Conduct geotechnical assessments stability analysis and risk evaluations
- Contribute to project planning and reporting across the full project lifecycle
- Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure highquality and timely deliverables
- Support business development initiatives and help grow the tailings practice
- Ensure adherence to local and international standards best practices and regulatory requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Geotechnical or Mining Engineering
- 37 years of experience in tailings engineering or related geotechnical disciplines
- Strong understanding of dam design construction and monitoring principles
- Proficiency in geotechnical modelling and analysis tools (e.g. GeoStudio PLAXIS Slide2 etc.
- Previous consulting experience is highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and collaborative mindset with strong problemsolving abilities
