Description

As a Patient Care Associate/Nursing Assistant in the Emergency Trauma Center you will find your purpose providing an array of medical services designed to keep adults feeling well and in control of their health!Under the supervision of the RN the PCA/NA performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients. PCA/NAs are responsible for critical monitoring like vital signs and glucose checks so we can better assess their health. Transporting patients to appointments and procedures to get them the right care at the right time. Interacting with patients to promote comfort and express compassion and empathy as they heal. Walking its one of the most important things we can do for them and you get to help them do it safely as well as other ADLs (activities of daily living). These are things we often take for granted that patients may be unable to or need help doing themselves. ADLs include bathing brushing teeth toileting and more.

In addition you will also:

  • Manage communication in the patient care area regarding patient care activities and patient location for patients and families and refers requests to nursing staff or appropriate hospital personnel.
  • Initiateassemble and maintaincharts for all patients on the assigned unit.
  • Transcribephysicians orders; completeall necessary forms requisitions and communications necessary to implement orders.
  • Record and chart clinical data and other patient information received from nursing staff and medical staff in addition to maintaining the patient chart in appropriate functional order as prescribed by Hospital and unit policy.

Schedule:

  • Casual minimum of 2 shifts per months one weekend shift
  • Rotating day evening and night shifts (all shifts)

Pay and Benefits:

  • Starting pay begins at $18.43 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience
    • Pay range: $18.43 $24.44 per hour

Qualifications:

  • High School DiplomaorGEDorequivalent work experience including ability to read write and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
  • Working knowledge of personal care activities transfer techniques.
