Job Description
Salary/Position Classification
- 21.00 hourly NonExempt (Eligible for overtime)
- 40 hours per week
- 100 Remote Work Availability: No
- Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No
Purpose of Position
As part of a cooperative project with the MN Department of Natural Resources we will be conducting waterfowl and water bird surveys to evaluate their responses to cattail management at wetlands
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys using acoustic recording units and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).
Required Competencies
- Background in basic bird surveys
- Ability to work in early morning on weekends and weekdays
- Ability to work independently and in teams
Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing or obtained a BS in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology
- Valid drivers license
- Valid FAA Part 107 UAS license
- Background in basic bird surveys
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in game bird ecology and management
- Interest in habitat management
- Experience with GIS and GPS
- Experience in program R
- Experience in identification of waterfowl and other wetland birds
