Construction Inspector

As aConstruction Inspector you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance standards codes and ordinances zoning regulations as well as contract plans specifications and special provisions. Projects will consist of bridges roadways and environmental components to these services.This position is available in our Dover DE office.

Responsibilities:

• Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards codes and specifications.
• Prepare daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
• Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
• Coordinate and perform field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
• Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates.
• Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork grading profiles and special staking procedures.
• Communicates verbally and in writing with contractors owner and project stakeholders as directed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in the field or in traderelated training in a design construction inspection construction materials engineering/testing or other construction related field.
• Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection and field testing of construction materials.
• Must be able to read write comprehend and speak English fluently.
• Attendance punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
• Familiarity with the use of PCbased computer systems and/or tablet systems.
• Current/valid State Drivers License REQUIRED with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
• Construction field materials testing certifications i.e. Asphalt concrete work zone pavement marking environmental etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type.
