Yardperson

The following will be the main responsibilities for this position:

1. Assisting shop foreman with shipping and receiving of various full and partial loads
2. Contacting various LTL carries to arrange pick up and delivery of Thyssen related items
3. Being in contact with shop clerk to generate proper Reqs and POs to be in process prior to arranging loads.
4. Verifying piece count of received orders based on packing slips to let foreman and clerk on what is outstanding or missed.
5. Assisting with information required for customs/cross border shipping of items.
6. Filling out various shipping/receiving binders for tracking purposes.
7. Filling our various Thyssen shipping advices and LTL Carrier BOLs.
8. Eventually having the ability to email site with shipment information.
9. Assist with verification on inventory if required.
10. Operation of mobile equipment forklift loaders overhead crane is an asset required.
11. Loading and unloading of mobile equipment and sea cans. Being aware of assisting with rental crane company when required.
12. Performing monthly site safety inspections perimeter inspections of yard
13. Being responsible for general labour / mechanical support requirements as instructed by shop foreman.
14. Being responsible for general housekeeping for the shop and yard to meet Thyssens expectation of organization.
15. Snow removal duties during off hours overtime applies. Use of loaders snowblowers to meet this requirement
16. Transportation of loads incity and occasional hotshot of Thyssen items via 1Ton flat deck or gooseneck trailer. Class 1 is an asset for loads over 4600 kgs
