Job Description
- Bachelors degree in the related field is preferred but not required
- Must have prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems
- Must have insurance knowledge; prior experience in claims & billing is a plus
- Medical coding degree or certification is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) is preferred
- Strong customer service and time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Responsible for all billingrelated duties including but not limited to: conducting prebilling reviews for clean claims sending out claims to insurance handling claim denial issues receiving and recording payments managing adjustments and writeoffs and maintaining accuracy in patient data and balances.
- Assists in monthly reconciliation of insurance and patient payments
- Manage denied claims handle claim appeals and resubmissions and resolve unpaid claims with insurance companies
- Handles client inquiries regarding billing and charges and sends out collection letters where appropriate
- Assist with revenue cycle management insurance contractual obligation issues medical record reviews and facility/provider credentialing
- Support Admission functions and provide occasional front desk coverage
- Other duties as assigned
