Join our team as a Senior Facilities Manager (Hard FM)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Facilities Management professional with a hard FM bias to join the Senior Management Team of the Councils Facilities Management Service.
You will use your expertise and knowledge within the areas of operational management of premises and within hard FM services to direct a number of operational teams primarily in the fields of premises operations and compliance building services and building fabric maintenance and in technical support functions. You will also utilise your knowledge and skills to ensure effective contract management of support services and to project manage minor building improvement works. In addition and as part of the Services Senior Management Team you will contribute to the strategic direction of the FM Service as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership to FM operations and maintenance teams in delivering a portfolio of corporate buildings that is fully compliant with legislative obligations applicable standards codes of practice and with council requirements and procedures.
- Lead or direct facilities related initiatives to realise improvements efficiencies or best practice in FM operations compliance maintenance health safety environment and accessibility.
- Oversee the effective efficient and compliant delivery of repairs and maintenance relative to both building fabric and mechanical and electrical engineering services.
- Oversee the delivery of adhoc facilities refurbishment and workspace improvement projects.
- Develop and implement robust operating procedures processes instructions guidance and reporting to ensure continuous and consistent compliance with workplace and premises related legislative duties corporate policies health and safety guidance codes of practice and premises management standards.
- Work with the Councils Building Services Engineering team to ensure that all M&E services are subject to appropriate servicing regimes in the interests of ensuring their availability and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to senior management to assist with the management of risk relative to the condition and operation of premises and their building engineering services and take a lead role in relation to the identification and implementation of priorities and controls to mitigate risks to premises availability and business continuity.

What Were Looking For:
- Professionally qualified / degree (or equivalent) in a relevant property discipline plus substantial experience OR substantial vocational experience demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively demanding roles in a relevant field e.g. FM / construction / maintenance / building services / surveying / project management.
- Indepth knowledge and extensive experience in applying relevant legislation and current standards in Facilities Management (Hard FM / Technical Services).
- Proven track record in developing and managing operational service delivery including contract and project management.
