Job Description
As a fundamental player in the Defence industry UGL plays a vital role in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide.
From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services our teams expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably.
As a result of expanding scope of works within UGLs portfolio we are seeking expression of interest from experienced Fuel Operations and Maintenance trades people keen to bolster and join our team in the Northern Territory.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment and to support the security requirements of the Nation.
Current NT Vacancies Defence Fuels
RAAF Base Darwin
Maintenance Tradespeople (x 2 Mechanical / 1 x Electrical)
- Maintain fuel farm and related infrastructure
Fuel Operators (x5
- Operate fuel farm
Aviation Fuel Tanker Drivers (x 4
- Operate tanker trucks to deliver fuel on base
RAAF Base Tindall NT
Maintenance Tradespeople 1 x Mechanical / 1 x Electrical)
- Maintain fuel farm and related infrastructure
Fuel Operators (x1
- Operate fuel farm
We have similar roles at Defence bases nationally if you are interested in relocating out of NT either back to where you call home or for a sea change.
About the roles and contract
- Permanent FullTime opportunities with an industry leading services provider
- Initially a 6year contract with possible extensions through to 2035!

Rates Enterprise Agreement
All roles are employed under an EA. Rates range depending on experience and level of the role.
- Operators starting from: $39.00 plus super
- Maintenance starting from: $44.00 plus super
About You
You will be a strong team player a selfstarter and dedicated employee that will draw on your extensive experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer while developing yourself personally and professionally. Ideally you will have:
- Prior Defence Fuels Network experience will be highly regarded
- Relevant trade qualifications (for maintenance roles)
- HR/HC Drivers licence highly regarded for fuel tanker driver roles
- Strong team player with safety at the forefront of everything they do
