The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $37.00 $40.00/hour based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for fulltime employees which include but are not limited to:

The Department of General Services Facilities Management Division (FM) is responsible for facility maintenance and management including preventative maintenance work order processing and reporting vendor management and capital planning.
FM works behind the scenes to ensure the citys departments and agencies can function at their best. The FM Division staff is responsible for providing a full range of building services including plumbing heating/cooling electrical painting and maintenance of doors windows walls ceilings and floors among other services. Through seven teams FM is responsible for maintaining overmillion square feet of buildings and structures in over 140 city owned and leased facilities sites and structures.

The Facilities Management Division is seeking a skilled taskoriented Plumber to join our Shelter and Residential Support Team. This role is primarily focused on responding to service calls addressing a wide range of urgent and routine plumbing issues in real time.
Were looking for someone who excels at troubleshooting in diverse environments and can quickly assess and resolve problems to keep essential systems functioning. The ideal candidate is a handson professional who thrives in a fastpaced servicedriven role.
As part of a worldclass team youll provide critical support to City agencies and facilities across Denverhelping ensure that shelter and residential sites remain safe functional and responsive to the needs of our community.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Specifically as a Plumber you will:
Performs preventative maintenance maintenance and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance to agency or department standards and code requirements.
Installs or alters new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for the purpose of construction tenant finishing or remodeling according to diagram specifications and code requirements
Responds to plumbing service or trouble calls troubleshoots and provides problem resolution.
Performs plumbing camera scope work regularly to determine infrastructure needs.
Inspects maintains and repairs various types of fire protection systems
Maintains tests and installs devices for the prevention of backflow back siphonage or cross connection
Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports
Estimates materials labor and equipment costs.
Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas
Participates in snow removal duties
Working on the Shelter and Residential Team is different from working in an office building environment. The facilities in which this team works are shelters and residential spaces for people experiencing homelessness. Examples include congregate shelters for men or women micro/tiny home villages and hotels and related structures that have been converted to dormitorystyle living units. Team members may be stationed at a property or will be provided a vehicle to travel from property to property addressing maintenance needs. Staff on the Shelter and Residential Team will work in pairs for safety and efficiency.
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience skills and characteristics:
Willingness to work around people who are experiencing homelessness
Experience working in hotel congregate living spaces or similar spaces a plus but not required
Experience installing diagnosing and repairing pumps sewer mains/lines lift stations fire protection systems is preferred
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: None.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One 1 year of journeylevel plumber experience maintaining repairing and constructing plumbing systems and equipment.
License/Certifications:
Requires a valid Drivers License at the time of application.
Requires a valid Journey Plumbers License issued by the State of Colorado at the time of application. Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in lieu of this requirement provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at completion of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
