Description

TPI is actively searching for experienced 1st shift Bindery Stitcher Operators to work onsite in Pennsauken offers competitive pay and a great benefits package.


The Stitcher Operator is responsible for setting up operating and maintaining Saddle Stitchers. Key duties involve troubleshooting mechanical issues performing scheduled and preventive maintenance and maintaining operational efficiency. The operator also inspects printed materials for quality throughout the production process adheres to safety regulations and operates pallet jacks to move products around the production floor as needed. Attention to detail adaptability and the ability to work flexible hoursincluding overtime and weekends to meet production deadlinesare essential to succeed in this role.


Essential Functions:

  • Set up and operate Saddle Stitchers according to work order.
  • Perform maintenance troubleshoot and resolve printing and mechanical challenges.
  • Ability to perform preventative and routine maintenance on the bindery equipment.
  • Follow strict quality control measures and pay close attention to detail.
  • Visually inspect products throughout run for quality.
  • Ability to perform varying work within tight deadlines and fastpaced environment while being responsible for ensuring quality work.
  • Work closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.
  • Flexibility to work on other equipment or complete other tasks as needed.
  • Be able to quickly learn and master our camera system.
  • Operate pallet jacks to transport supplies as needed.
  • Ability to work a fulltime schedule including overtime on weekends.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience operating Saddle Stitcher equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical challenges.
  • Inspect products throughout printing process for quality.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • History of performing well under pressure.
  • Must be very detailed oriented.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and frequent lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Continuous vision required and ability to read/sort sequential numbers and match written names/words in English.
  • Must be able to work weekends 2 weekends per month) and overtime as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • At least three years professional experience setting up running and maintaining bindery equipment.
  • Other bindery equipment operating experience is a plus.

Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous vision. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized load. Frequent reaching twisting and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during routine machine maintenance.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a fulltime position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday. 1st shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 2nd shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; 3rd shift is 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Weekend hours may be required during peak production times. This position typically works 4050 hours per week.


The pay range for this position is $20$28 per hour. Compensation is dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
