About IPSDL
Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division Large (IPSDL) designs tests and manufactures C7 through C18 engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Job Summary:
As a Senior Associate Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the concept development and design of complex components while advancing your analytical expertise and engineering knowledge. You will collaborate with and provide technical leadership to global teams driving the successful planning and of key projects. This role offers opportunities for continuous learning exposure to cuttingedge technologies and the chance to mentor and coach team members expanding your professional network.
In collaboration with design engineers procurement manufacturing product support and suppliers you will contribute to the release and enhancement of components such as Pistons Rings and Liners supporting both current and future initiatives including New Product Introduction (NPI) New Technology Introduction (NTI) New Source Introduction (NSI) Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) and Cost Reduction efforts
What You Will Do:
Design and evaluate new products components or systems with a focus on functionality manufacturability and costeffectiveness
Perform technical assessments related to product design reliability durability validation cost and overall program requirements
Communicate technical findings test results and project updates to internal teams suppliers and crossfunctional stakeholders
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams through the Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) process to support early design integration
Support validation activities including test planning and analysis to ensure product performance and compliance
Manage assigned projects to meet established timelines and budgets while maintaining alignment with Engineering and business objectives
Degree Requirement
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Agricultural or Manufacturing.
What You Will Have:
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of problemsolving techniques and the ability to identify root causes of technical issues. Proficiency in interpreting data comparing alternative solutions and drawing logical conclusions to support product development and quality improvement initiatives. Familiarity with engine systems is beneficial.
Product Testing: Knowledge of mechanical product testing methods and tools. Ability to plan and execute test strategies document procedures and analyze results to validate performance and ensure compliance with functional requirements. Experience with testing engine components is an advantage
Engineering Manufacturing (MFG): Understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts materials and production processes. Ability to support design implementation resolve manufacturing issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Familiarity with enginerelated components and systems is preferred
Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify capture and document relevant business information in an auditable organized understandable and easily retrievable manner. Proficiency in Creo modeling software is essential for developing and revising mechanical components

Summary Pay Range:
$87480.00 $131280.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjobrelated knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
