Amazon Web Services has an immediate opening for a Technical Manager to manage a team of Technical Program Managers that support AWS Global Brick and Position Deliverys data center scaling initiatives. This manager will work with their peers to own delivery networking equipment for our global data center fleet.
The ideal candidate possesses 5 years of experience in the area of program management experience managing complex and largescale and technology projects (including cost schedule and performance for portfolios programs or individual projects) and developing/improving processes and procedures.
This individual will be responsible for managing a team 5 of technical program managers. This person will work across all levels and functions with an ability to escalate and drive problems through completion. This individual will own all facets of performance and career management including regular ontoone meetings with all team members and both technical and softskill mentoring.
Key job responsibilities
Monitor the networking data center build programs overall progress; anticipate risks resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate.
Work with stakeholders (networking engineers/tech program managers/senior management) to define requirements and processes.
Manage individual contributor job performance.
Manage the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and negotiate the tradeoffs needed.
Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
End to end responsibility for the programs and success.
Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
Run meetings create and maintain timelines and keep large diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
Develop and implement scalable datadriven process improvement/automated solutions.
Report ad hoc weekly and monthly program and operating metrics.
Keep the customer experience as the primary focus.
The candidate must also be comfortable managing remote project delivery teams and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues and remove barriers to project success.

3 years of technical infrastructure management experience
Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (i.e. network data center hardware software)
