Role Overview
Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining USC Hillel as the Springboard Fellow. You will build one on one relationships with students plan and execute engaging events and programs around campus and help inspire students to make a commitment to Jewish life . USC has an undergraduate Jewish population of 2000 Jewish students who come from all over the country and world to enjoy interdisciplinary academic studies preprofessional opportunities and robust social life. USC Hillel offers a welcoming environment to nurture a strong Jewish community that emphasizes studentled staffsupported work to uplift student ideas. Hillel offers opportunities for students to become leaders mentors and community members within the greater USC and Los Angeles communities.
At USC Hillel you will join a dynamic talented student life team that works collaboratively to create unforgettable Jewish experiences. You will connect with students from all backgrounds of Jewish life and all identities and assure them that there is no such thing as not Jewish enough. You will share your Jewish story with students to inspire them to get involved in our community. Youll wake up each day and be genuinely excited and enthusiastic about creating an inviting place that inspires students to explore experience and create vibrant Jewish lives. This is so much more than your average 9to5.
About The Springboard Fellowship
The Springboard Fellowship is a paid twoyear fellowship that brings recent college grads with raw talent passion and skills needed to reimagine and redesign Jewish student life to college campuses across North America.
Trained in RelationshipBased Engagement HumanCentered Design and other entrepreneurial frameworks you will be exposed to the most successful initiatives from across the Hillel movement. Fellows will work with students to imagine create and refine experiences for Jewish life that dramatically impact student engagement efficiently and strategically apply and scale successful initiatives from across the movement and give birth to cuttingedge ideas that have the potential to transform how Hillel and creates inclusive spaces for #AllKindsOfJewish.
Were looking for people who embrace challenges take risks fail and learn from the past while maintaining their passion and sense of humor. Extensive Jewish education is not necessary just an interest in creating a vibrant Jewish community a commitment to learning and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students.
What Youll Do
GOALS:
- Actively contribute to building and sustaining the USC Hillel community by engaging 250 students every year
- Conduct 75 coffee conversations each academic year
- Help USC Hillel reach 1200 Jewish students (and 1800 students total) in an academic year
- Collaborate with students to create innovative programming opportunities on and off campus
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Serve as the primary engager of firstyear students and Greek Life students and meet with them one on one or in small groups
- Work with student leaders to develop programs based on the interest passions and needs of the students.
- Collaborate on our weekly Shabbat experiences and annual holiday programming and largescale events
- Actively promote and recruit for all Hillel programming.
- Create and execute popups on campus.
- Contribute to our online presence through Instagram newsletters and our website
- Recruit for Alternative Break and Birthright Israel trips and staff as needed

What Youll Bring to the Job

What Youll Receive
- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $46000 $50000 in year one of the Fellowship and the salary range is $48000 $52000 in year two of the Fellowship.
