Job Summary
Alliant Energy is seeking a seasoned maintenance leader for our Ottumwa Generating Station in Ottumwa IA. In this position you will guide a dedicated team of maintenance employees and frequently interact with union leadership. Familiarity with bargaining unit contracts will be beneficial.
As the Manager of Maintenance you will manage and provide leadership and are responsible for planning directing and implementing all assigned maintenance activities in a safe and environmentally conscious manner with a keen focus on continuously improving competitive position and profitability. This position serves as a member of a plants management team.
What you will do
Performs all leadership duties including hiring and rewarding talent fostering an inclusive and safe workplace partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations providing timely and specific feedback on performance developing improvement plans to address performance gaps addressing conflict with care and respect identifying opportunities for growth and development embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning ensuring employees report to work fit for duty adhering to our Code of Conduct and modeling Alliant Energys Core Values at all times.
Responsible for developing implementing maintaining monitoring and improving maintenance activities in a generating plant environment.
Responsible for the overall management and supervision of maintenance activities including ensuring the effective implementation of maintenance strategies policies and procedures to support the safe reliable and efficient operation of the plant.
Accountable for developing and implementing comprehensive long and shortrange maintenance plans. These plans involve analyzing equipment performance identifying maintenance needs scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities and coordinating with other departments to optimize plant availability and minimize downtime.
Overall responsibility for work order management. Provide guidance and assistance to employees in preparing maintenance work requests. Review Work Orders for completeness and accuracy and ensure proper utilization of work management system.
Collaborates closely with other departments such as operations engineering procurement and finance to ensure seamless coordination and communication. This includes participating in crossfunctional meetings sharing information addressing operational challenges and supporting the overall goals of the power plant.
Prepare recommend and monitor maintenance budget and assist in planning capital budgets to ensure adequate funds for mechanical electrical control and instrument maintenance requirements on an annual and 5year basis.
Directly participates in the development of plant specific goals and objectives.
Assists in overall budget planning for the plant and takes responsibility for developing implementing and explaining variances of the maintenance budget plan.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energys Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree Preferred
Required Experience
5 years of related experience
3 years supervisory experience or equivalent.
Other Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of process controls (Provox Mark V etc. preferred. Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g. email word processing spreadsheet and project management).
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.

Pay Range:
104000.00 $143000.00This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
