Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Laboratory Director coordinates with Lab Manager LIS Coordinator and Pathology Manger to assist with assigned monthly task lists for their respective departments and serves as Bench Tech as assigned on Schedule. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training which will be indicated by a bachelors degree in Medical Technology; ASCP registered or equivalent; minimum of 4 years experience as a Medical Technologist in a full service laboratory. Ability to work in all departments of the Laboratory. Good understanding of Quality Control and the operation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. Ability to organize and communicate effectively. Ability to make appropriate decisions in the absence of written or verbal instructions. Proficient in Excel and word and Soft. Lab.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move traverse position self remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps; use a microscope for up to eight hours per day; exposure to hazardous materials; manual dexterity and motor coordination; visual and auditory acuity; distinguish colors; move lift and position materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
