Job Description

BUSINESS FUNCTION:Engineering

GRADE: Fleet Level 5 Shifts

SALARY:53592per annum

ROLE TYPE:On Site

HOURS:35 per week

Were on the lookout for a motivated and skilled Technical Riding Inspector (TRI) with a strong electrical focus to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping a reliable safe and connected future for rail travel.

Picture yourself making an impact by ensuring our fleet operates at the highest standards. From electrical faultfinding and repairs to improving performance youll be at the heart of delivering exceptional service for our customers.

Can You See Yourself

  • Excelling in Electrical Work: Carrying out advanced electrical faultfinding maintenance and inservice repairs on our trains ensuring they meet the high standards our customers and stakeholders expect.
  • Being HandsOn: Responding to callouts for failed trains and working as part of a team to minimise disruption and improve performance.
  • Thriving on Collaboration: Acting as the face of Northern working closely with frontline staff to ensure customers enjoy a reliable and safe journey.
  • Driving Improvement: Continuously reviewing and improving electrical systems and processes to meet targets and deadlines helping to build a railway the North can be proud of.
  • Being a Team Player: Reporting to the Train Riding Manager and working as part of a team covering the East Coast Mainline collaborating with colleagues to ensure the fleet is managed effectively.

Are You

  • Electrically Skilled: A Level 3 or apprenticetrained multiskilled engineering technician with a strong emphasis on electrical faultfinding and maintenance.
  • Reliable and Hardworking: Ready to take on a challenging but rewarding role that keeps our fleet in top condition. Adaptable: Willing to work a variety of shifts including early mornings late nights weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Able to think quickly and stay composed in highpressure situations.
  • Eager to Learn: Open to support and additional training from our expert Training Team.

Please note this role is safetycritical and is subject to Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB)regulations. YouMUSTmeet the safety critical criteria for thisposition or your application will be automatically rejected.
