As a Summer Intern you will perform programming and conceptual design tasks thru preparation of contract documents under the direct supervision of one or more registered architects. Tasks will be in support of architectural projects related to new construction renovation and tenant improvement work.
Responsibilities
Summer Interns work as part of a multidiscipline team performing architectural design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Summer Interns perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more registered architects and concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects. Assignments include programming space planning participating in the design process preparing design presentations to communicate ideas to clients and producing deliverable drawing sets for floor plans roof plans building and wall sections details and schedules.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists to design and specify projectappropriate architecture requirements
- Performs Revit modeling and detailing
- Assists to conduct site investigations and observations
- Assists to prepare narratives architectural graphics design presentations boards drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints
- Assists to perform crossdiscipline discussions and coordination
- Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space function materials sustainability etc.
- Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings assisting with performing construction contract administration and assisting with marketing/business development activities
Qualifications
- Must be working towards graduation of an accredited Architecture degree.
- Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture Rhino Grasshopper SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Strong graphic verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems.
- Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multidiscipline team.
- Active involvement and demonstrated leadership skills in extracurricular activities on campus and in the community is preferred.
Compensation range for this position varies between $19/hr $23/hr depending upon applicable experience.
