Quality Process Engineer

Michelin is hiring!

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening in Tuscaloosa Alabama for a Process Quality Engineer whose responsibilities include ensuring process and quality performance in his/her area of responsibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Daily audit tours through your area of responsibility with quality standards focus.
  • Ensure quality and productivity performance comply with the goals defined by the shop.
  • Anticipate Customer Risks product compliance and quality performance risks.
  • Right the FirstTime principles are applied.
  • Create and execute actions to reduce risks.
  • Monitor quality results to ensure the tire is performing as expected.
  • All complaints nonconformities nonstandard situations and performance shifts are processed appropriately.
  • Determine causes of anomalies and nonperformance. Resolve and eliminate root causes.
  • Create progress actions and ensure the actions are in put in the annual progress plan.
  • Work with other departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Lead/Participate in quality risk assessments for products materials processes and methods.
  • Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information.
  • Ensures mentoring of operators to improve the application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation.
  • Following up on process performance in terms of capability and productivity and takes part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to interact in a professional manner suppliers customers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork leadership and organizational skills.
  • Effective problemsolving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • B.S. degree in STEM field or operations management field. Experience in process engineering or quality control manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Attention to detail data accuracy.
