Position:Shipyard Supervisor
Job Location: Hahnville LA
Hutco Branch: Harvey LA
Rate of Pay:$30.00 to $38.00 per hourbased on Experience (time and a half for overtime after 40 hours)
Description:
Hutco Inc. is looking for a shipyard Supervisor for a yard located in Hahnville LA.
Performs a variety of duties including but not limited to the following:
Oversees daytoday repairs of marine vessels in the yard. Instruct personnel on procedures and repairs to be accomplished on each job. Complies with written repair specifications. Log time cards for each employee ensuring the correct job number and phases for each. Effectively utilize equipment and personnel to keep the barge comment schedule on track. Maintains a safety watch over all aspects of the yard job. Ability to operate various pieces of equipment and machinery. Controls expendable and consumable items used during repairs.
NO TWIC card required. NO per diem available. Longterm work.

Essential Functions:
The individual assigned to this position must with or without reasonable accommodation be able to perform the following Essential Functions:
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to written policies and procedures.
- Comprehend blueprints and sketches.
- Ability to successfully motivate employees.
- Ability to be certified in accordance with a recognized standard welding procedure.
- Troubleshooting and problemsolving ability.
- Enter and work in an internal confined space.
- Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
- Traverse and negotiate uneven heights and surfaces.
- Maneuver around piping obstructions and frames.
- Ascend and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
- Stooping squatting twisting kneeling and reaching.
Education Requirements:
Minimum Ability to read and write.
Preferred High School Diploma GED or Trade School Diploma.
Experience Required:
Prior history as a Supervisor Foreman or Lederman and the ability to perform the duties of this job description.
