You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe University of Akron a NCAA Division 1 (FBS) institution and member of the MidAmerican Conference (MAC) is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Womens Basketball Coach. This position will provide assistance to the womens basketball program by contributing to the coaching recruiting and
administrative efforts of the department.
Duties:
Assist with various coaching and training activities during games and practices. Assist with game and practice preparation and player development. Assist in scheduling.
Provide assistance in recruiting and scouting highly skilled student athletes while initiating oral and electronic correspondence and evaluating college eligible prospects.
Provide assistance in editing and evaluating videotapes from practices and games.
Assist in monitoring the academic and athletic development of student athletes to ensure player eligibility and to support the educational goals of individual students.
Assist in fundraising efforts and bring initiatives to help community engagement/attendance
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required. Requires a minimum of 1 year experience in college or professional basketball coaching and/or playing experience. An understanding of recruitment procedures and the technical fundamentals and principles of womens basketball required. Strong communication skills required
