Job Description

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of the Director of Enrollment & Financial Aid for the School of Theology

POSITION SUMMARY: Facilitate the admissions process (from inquiry to confirmed registered and fully enrolled) either at Moravian Theological Seminary or Lancaster Theological Seminary by maintaining continuous contact with prospective students and managing their Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database records. Execute a comprehensive recruitment plan using available resources to meet targeted enrollment goals for all programs of study. Stay current on industry and campus news that could impact the prospective student. Represent and promote Moravian and Lancaster Seminaries in a variety of forums creating relationships with college counselors chaplains denominational leaders alumni current students faculty staff and others who can identify prospective students. Counselor will work primarily from Lancaster campus but need to travel periodically between the two campuses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admissions

  • Manage the application process and the enrollment funnel.
  • In accordance with the communications plan developed by the Enrollment Office maintain hightouch ongoing communication with prospects and applicants through phone text email Zoom conversations and marketing materials during discernment and application processes that result in the achievement of targeted new student goals for each admissions cycle.
  • Respond to all new inquiries within 1 business day.
  • Effectively advise prospective and newly admitted students regarding admissions requirements policies procedures and campus resources in person by telephone written correspondence email and virtual forums throughout the admissions cycle.
  • Arrange campus visits and tours

Recruitment

  • Implement recruitment strategies as outlined in the recruitment plan.
  • Arrange and visit colleges/universities denominational gatherings conferences and vocational events virtually and inperson. Overnight travel may be required.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with alumni feeder colleges programs denominational leaders and conferences for the purpose of student cultivation and recruitment.
  • Clearly and persuasively articulate Moravian and Lancaster Theological Seminaries vision and mission to prospective students pastors judicatory leaders faculty of other institutions and other influencers.
  • Energetically provide a welcoming and knowledgeable presence for all prospective students.

Analysis & Reports

  • Manage CRM and student information system (SIS) data
  • Provide applicant and inquiry reports during regular meetings with the Director of Enrollment and enrollment team.
  • Provide monthly Admissions reports and dashboards.
  • Provide reports and feedback on effectiveness of selected recruitment events and meetings prospective students vocational needs and application/retention status.
  • Consult with the Director of Enrollment regarding Seminary degree and certificate programs policies national admissions trends (standards and policies) and offer recommendations for improvement to overall processes.

Student Experience Mentorship

  • Develop and maintain pipelines of prospective students for degree and certificate programs.
  • Provide bestinclass customer service to all prospective students.
  • Interact closely with all assigned students (current and prospective) via phone email and virtual platforms and develop coaching relationships to drive retention and student satisfaction.
  • Act as a point of contact to direct students to campus resources.

Other

  • Assist with the development of Admissions marketing materials.
  • Be dynamic confident selfstarter highly organized and work within a team.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment

QUALIFICATIONS: A masters degree in an appropriate field is required and the Master of Divinity is optimal. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast and changing work environment excellent collaboration skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team. Experience working with integrated technology systems and tools is a plus. Computer Google Suite CRM database management and social media literacy is required. Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills are necessary to respond to a variety of people. Successful candidate should be a selfstarter and a team player who can work individually with students have a commitment to customer service and have the ability to be a trusted ambassador of MTS and LTS mission and goals. Requires an ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends to best accommodate student needs. Theological college or graduate school recruitment experience and ordination are strongly preferred.
