Reporting directly to the Procurement Director the Sr. Procurement Manager Equipment is responsible for delivering business results implementing global strategies ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing total cost of ownership all of which are required to meet the business needs.
The main responsibilities include:
- Developing and deploying strategies to optimize the total cost of ownership across an identified set of categories.
- Managing a team of direct reports located in Europe and driving engagement levels in the team by setting challenging goals providing feedback supporting on delivery and driving governance in the team.
- Engaging with key business stakeholders from SVPs to the operational level to maintain alignment with evolving business needs.
- Engaging with the R&D and Procurement Business Partner teams to drive portfolio optimization and consolidation.
- Negotiating Ts and Cs with equipment project management/service suppliers for a multimillion dollar portfolio in EMEA.
- Ensuring security of supply by driving sole source breaks and contingency plans.
- Ensuring supplier service level both in terms of on time deliveries as well as product quality.
- Delivering savings by identifying and driving cost savings project and initiatives.
- Providing accurate pricing forecasts and understanding key feedstock trends.
- Linking knowledge of current market trends with supplier portfolios to identify opportunities for marketplace advantages and generate new ideas for gaining a competitive advantage.
- Establishing developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ultimately create value for the organization.
- Representing purchasing on crossfunctional project teams
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in leading multi cultural teams in a Center of Excellence.
- Experience in engaging with multiple business stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- A demonstrated track record delivering results in a challenging business environment.
- Higher education in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Automation) and/or Business.
- Industrial manufacturing and/or equipment related experience preferable.
- Proactive selfstarter with the ability to work independently.
- Successful experience negotiating with large multinational suppliers.
- Work experience in a multinational/multicultural/matrix environment.
- Ability to adjust to changing variables in the workplace.
- Ability to maintain composure and deliver results under pressure.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas and original solutions.
- Ability to operate proactively anticipating possible problems opportunities and challenges.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to distil synthesize and draw conclusions from large data sets.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in 2 other European languages
