Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire.
Must haveexcellent communication skills ability to follow oral instructions basic computer skills strong work ethics and accountability.
Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.
1 year(s) experience working in an acute hospital setting providing patient care.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Assists patients and visitors with information and issues. Notifies appropriate staff members of problems requiring prompt intervention
Obtains patient report communicates with nursing staff regarding patient care/changes in condition. Informs nurses of patient requests or complaints
Documents patient care activities/tasks including vital signs activities of daily life (ADL) wave tests and input and output (I&Os)
Provides appropriate grooming/oral hygiene and comfort measures and assists patients with activities
Monitors and maintains adequate levels of supplies inside and outside of rooms. Prepares treatment rooms for examinations
Assists with admission transfer and discharge of patients. Transports patients to other areas of the hospital as directed
Serves as resources person to support department members in performance of duties
May perform other duties as assigned.
