POSITION PURPOSE: Under general supervision from the Metering Supervisor or other assigned supervisor the Metering Technician will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to repairs tests and programs electronic and mechanical meters for uses.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to service orders concerning customers including equipment changeouts device commissioning and system troubleshooting.
- Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters and remote data collection hardware and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment.
- Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micromanagement upon completionfollow up on any new opportunities.
- Communicate with customers contractors and coworkers and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates tenant surveys and occasional meter reading.
- Partake in department workflow stay aware of ongoing projects and assist when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education / Experience / Background
- An associates or Bachelors Degree in electronics computer technician or instrumentation is strongly preferred.
- At least two years of related field work experience or any equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of programming testing troubleshooting and calibration of electronic and mechanical meters.
- Strong PC skills as well as demonstrated skills in reading submeter drawings diagrams and wiring layouts.
- Proven proficiency in Visio and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers and vendors communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Reliable team player. An organized selfstarter able to follow standard procedures prioritize assignments and address problems as they arise or seek appropriate help.
- The employee will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
- Valid stateissued drivers license.
