Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant NetBackup Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and proactive NetBackup Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing monitoring and optimizing enterpriselevel backup and recovery systems using Veritas NetBackup. This role ensures data integrity system reliability and supports business continuity strategies.
Responsibilities
Design implement and maintain enterprise backup solutions using Veritas NetBackup.
Monitor backup jobs troubleshoot failures and ensure successful data backups and recoveries.
Perform regular system health checks and audits to maintain high availability and data integrity.
Collaborate with system storage and database administrators to develop and refine backup policies.
Manage backup infrastructure including media servers storage devices and cloudbased backup solutions.
Create and maintain documentation for backup procedures configurations and disaster recovery plans.
Provide 24x7 support for backup and recovery issues as part of oncall rotation.
Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in data protection and backup management.
Experience with backup on physical virtual (VMware/HyperV) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
Strong understanding of SAN NAS and other storage technologies.
Familiarity with scripting (e.g. PowerShell Shell or Python) for automation tasks.
Good knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies and best practices.
Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Veritas NetBackup Certification (VCS or similar).
Experience with other backup tools (Commvault Veeam etc. is a plus.
Knowledge of databases (Oracle SQL Server etc. in relation to backup and recovery.
Exposure to ITIL practices and change management processes.
