Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrument and Electrical Designer to join our team. This contract role will support the Refinery Technical Services (RTS) group working on electrical and instrument drawing packages for various refinery projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep CAD expertise leadership ability and a strong understanding of instrument and electrical design within an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify electrical and instrumentation drawings for refinery RTS projects
- Lead and coordinate a team of designers and drafters to complete deliverables efficiently and accurately
- Organize delegate and monitor design tasks across the team
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical craftspeople engineers and contractors
- Function independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with project specifications and codes
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 15 years of CAD experience (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)
- Strong knowledge of electrical or instrumentation design principles
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proven experience leading project design teams
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to continuously learn
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Design Drafting or Engineering Technology
- Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
- Previous work experience in a refinery or industrial environment
