What youll do:
- Inspire and lead: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the Upward Bound program motivating staff and participants alike.
- Build bridges: Cultivate strong relationships with local high schools community partners and families.
- Champion success: Oversee the development and implementation of innovative programs and activities that prepare students for college and beyond.
- Manage and empower: Effectively manage the program budget personnel and grant objectives fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Make a difference: Witness firsthand the incredible growth and achievements of the students you empower.
This is a fiscalyear softmoney funded position with a typical salary range of up to $60000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position includes a 10 employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing external funding and the operational needs of the university.

Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in school counseling education or other related disciplines.
- A minimum of five 5 years of professional experience in educational programming including knowledge of adolescent development theory as it relates to lowincome and firstgeneration students or work in student services (i.e teaching mentoring counseling)
- A minimum of three 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- A minimum of three 3 years of budget management experience.
- Valid drivers license (in good standing based on UMS standards).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management experience in a TRIO program.
- Program evaluation and data analysis experience.
- Academic curriculum development and educational assessment for grades 912.
