Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and businessminded Senior Corporate Lawyer to join a dynamic team supporting a Private Equity Fund and its two portfolio companies. This role is based in Almaty Kazakhstan with a primary legal focus on AIFC (Astana International Financial Centre) law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal support to the Fund across all stages of its operations including structuring compliance investor relations and transactional work.
- Act as lead legal advisor for two portfolio companies handling daytoday corporate matters governance commercial contracts and regulatory issues.
- Ensure full compliance with AIFC regulations and coordinate with external counsel when necessary.
- Draft review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including investment agreements shareholder agreements and financing documents.
- Work closely with senior management investment teams and other stakeholders to support strategic decisionmaking.
- Anticipate legal risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate them.
Requirements:
- Law degree from a reputable university; admission to practice law in Kazakhstan or another recognized jurisdiction.
- Minimum 57 years of relevant experience in corporate law ideally with exposure to private equity or investment funds.
- Solid understanding of AIFC regulations and crossborder legal frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Fluent professional English and Russian (both written and spoken).
- Teamoriented mindset with high professional ethics and business acumen.
