Your day to day as a Security Supervisor:

As a FullTime Security Supervisor at Excelsior Defense in Memphis you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of our facility and its occupants. Your responsibilities will include operating and enforcing a personnel identification system inspecting packages and managing controlled entry throughout the night. You will conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols to deter unauthorized activity while maintaining a visible security presence. In addition you will be responsible for incident management and reporting promptly identifying and communicating potential safety hazards or suspicious activities to VA Police. Your professional demeanor will assist in guiding visitors and employees while ensuring compliance with building regulations.

In emergencies youll respond quickly to alarms conduct health and safety checks administer first aid and CPR as necessary and coordinate seamlessly with emergency responders to manage overnight incidents effectively. Join us and make a difference as you safeguard our community!

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee security operations at multiple locations.
  • Supervise and support unarmed security guards ensuring adherence to VA security policies and Excelsior Defense procedures.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing ensuring coverage for all assigned posts while maintaining compliance with contract hours and obligations.
  • Conduct training and performance evaluations for security personnel ensuring all guards meet the minimum qualifications and required training standards.
  • Liaise with VA officials COR (Contracting Officers Representative) and Excelsior Defense leadership to ensure smooth operations and contract compliance.
  • Oversee security patrols vehicle management and emergency response coordination for all assigned locations.
  • Enforce sitespecific security measures including access control patrols incident reporting and adherence to VA safety policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations HIPAA and VAmandated training for security personnel.
  • Handle incident reports security deficiencies and risk mitigation strategies as required by VA leadership.
  • Monitor and enforce security procedures including surveillance monitoring alarm response and personnel identification checks.
  • Ensure all security personnel maintain a professional appearance proper conduct and highperformance standards.
  • Coordinate emergency response efforts with VA Police and local law enforcement.
  • Upon successful performance wage increase will be given.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of security management experience preferably in a federal or healthcare security setting.
  • Prior experience managing security teams of 10 personnel.
  • Knowledge of VA security policies HIPAA compliance and federal contracting requirements is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances and certifications.
  • Proficiency in security reporting incident documentation and staff training.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with government officials and law enforcement.
  • Proficiency in scheduling timekeeping and security operations management software.
  • Must pass a background check drug screening and meet federal security clearance requirements.
  • Must live within Memphis City limits and have a valid security license issued by the State of Tenn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military law enforcement or VA security experience.
  • Experience managing contracts for government security services.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
