Youllwork alongside passionate educators and scientists engage with PreK12 students and community members and help shape the next generation of ocean stewards. Together we build inclusive learning spaces where all voices are welcomed and celebrated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging culturally responsive educational programs for PreK12 students both onsite and in the field
- Adapt curriculum and tools based on audience needs and current research
- Collaborate on designing and evaluating short and longterm educational initiatives
- Supervise and mentor interns volunteers and program assistants
- Coordinatelogisticsfor educational events andmaintainaccurateparticipant data
- Represent the Aquarium at community and professional events
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in education natural science or a related field or equivalent experience
- 3 yearsfacilitatingprograms with PK12 audiences
- Experience creating inclusive studentcentered learning environments
- Strong communication organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with technologybased education tools (Google Suite iPads webbased platforms)
Preferred Skills:
- Teaching credential or formal education certification
- Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written)
- Experience with integrated STEAM instruction and educator training
- Knowledge of Monterey Bays natural history and marine ecosystems
- Ability to support students in waterbased activities (snorkeling tide pooling etc.
