LS Technologies a Tetra Tech company is seeking a parttime 50 Level of Effort) Terminal Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist to support the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) adaptation. The specialist will assist with scenario development test procedure creation dry runs test and reporting.
STARS Adaptation & Testing:
- Support the adaptation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS).
- Develop and refine Terminal Publication of Guidance (TPoG) scenarios.
- Assist in the creation and of test procedures.
- Conduct procedure dry runs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Execute test plans and document findings for reporting.
Weather Data Processing & Analysis:
- Work with the TPoG application to process National Weather Processor (NWP) and Common Support Services for Weather (CSSWx) precipitation data.
- Analyze precipitation output from multiple dedicated weather sensors to support testing and adaptation efforts.
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Coordinate with technical teams to refine test scenarios and procedures.
- Participate in test conduct and provide detailed documentation of results.
- Generate test reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
Education
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field preferred.
- FAA Terminal ATC experience required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 610 years of experience in Terminal Air Traffic Control (ATC).
- Handson experience with STARS adaptation and testing.
- Knowledge of TPoG applications and weather data processing.
- Familiarity with National Weather Processor (NWP) and Common Support Services for Weather (CSSWx) precipitation output.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and execute test procedures.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
Work Requirements:
- Work location: WJHTC Hybrid
- Work Hours: Normal Business Hours
- Travel: Less than 10
- Physical requirements:
- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware networking equipment and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment troubleshoot issues and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors such as (but not limited to) education certifications knowledge skills competencies experience location and clearance level as well as contractspecific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on fulltime 40hour/week status. Parttime staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represent the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and are just one component of the LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California Colorado New York or Washington D.C.
