Job Description

Harney District Hospital is looking to hire a fulltime Materials Manager to join our Materials team! The starting hourly wage for this position is $23.60 per hour and increases based on experience. The Materials Manager will perform activities which provide oversight expertise supervision and leadership to the Materials Management Department for the purpose of adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices in procurement department operations and employment practices.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of materials management practices materials evaluation and selection methods price negotiation techniques inventory systems supervisory practices budget preparation and monitoring techniques and computer application software. Must be detailoriented and have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must possess strong verbal skills to effectively communicate with other departments and vendors.

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a high school education supplemented by additional specialized training equal to two 2 years of college in materials science area and over three 3 years experience in purchasing materials science or closely related field or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Previous purchasing experience in a hospital environment.
