What you will do

This Commercial Lines Underwriting Supervisor position is responsible for leading and managing a team of Underwriters to ensure compliance with company underwriting policies. They will work closely with the Director of Regional Underwriting Operations to develop strategic plans for profitable growth within the territory. The team will underwrite commercial lines insurance policies including General Liability Workers Compensation Property and Commercial Auto insurance. Our Dealer Insurance division includes tailored services and products for Franchised and NonFranchised Auto Used Auto Motorcycle Powersports dealers. You will use your expertise to evaluate risks and determine appropriate coverage while also ensuring the utmost satisfaction for our Insureds.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for evaluating performance of all underwriters to confirm adherence to company underwriting guidelines policy.
• Effectively manage the quality process in a book of business.
• Manage territory to meet all regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for the administration of underwriting authority to underwriters with the Director of Regional Underwriting Operations.
• Understand trending in relation to growth and profit.
• Oversee agency/sales management.
• Demonstrate strong partnerships with agents and brokers.
• Support sales plans and agency engagement initiatives.
• Effectively manage agency profitability.
• Work closely with Director of Regional Underwriting Operations to develop strategic plans that allow profitable growth in the territory.
• Embody the leadership imperatives.

What you need

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience in Commercial Lines Underwriting preferred.
• Leadership and management experience in the insurance industry specifically in commercial lines preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of General Liability Workers Compensation Property and Commercial Auto lines of business.
• Proven track record of successful underwriting and portfolio management in the middle market segment
• Excellent analytical and decisionmaking skills.
• Strong communication negotiation and relationshipbuilding abilities.
• CPCU CIC designations highly desirable.

Salary range: $105000 $130000

This position also comes with eligibility for a Variable Compensation Bonus plan.

The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employees work experience their geographic location education certification(s) scope and responsibilities in the role and additional qualifications.
