Shotgun Sports Graduate Assistant Midland University a private faithbased liberal arts university in Fremont Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking a Shotgun Sports Graduate Assistant. This position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure requiring admission to the Universitys Master of Education Master of Science Learning and Talent Development Master of Science and Sports Administration and Leadership or Master of Business Administration programs.
In addition to the academic responsibilities the candidate will contribute to various aspects of the shotgun sports program including assistant coaching program administration practice preparation and other duties assigned by the Head Coach.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach with the administration and leadership of the shotgun sports program (club)
- Provide coaching and instruction during training practice activities and practice preparation.
- Teach gun safety
- Oversee team travel
- Ensure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional rules and regulations.
- Take a leadership role in maintaining the equipment inventory.
- Represent Midland University by role modeling respect integrity and studentfocused decisionmaking.
Qualifications include:
- A bachelors degree in a relevant field is required
- Ability to be accepted into a Masters Degree program at Midland University
- Shooting Sports background with knowledge of safe and proper storage of shooting equipment & ammunition as well as knowledge of safety regulations for all shooting equipment & shooting activity areas
- Demonstrated critical thinking positivity and problemsolving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office tools specifically Excel and Word.
Compensation:
- Tuition Remission in the masters program. The level of remission is dependent on the degree pursued
