Special Education Teacher Bethesda (FullTime)
Position Overview: The Northwest TriCounty Intermediate Unit (IU5 is seeking a fulltime Special Education Teacher to work with students at Bethesda in the acute partial classroom. This classroom is for elementary students.

187 work days per year 37.5 hour work week.
10 paid sick days 3 Personal Days 2 Emergency Days(based on start date)

Required minimum 7.5 contribution to Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
Required Qualifications:
Certification in Special Education PK8 or PK12
or: in the process of obtaining certificate through alternate certification process (ex. PDE approved Teacher prep or Intern program)
Desired Qualifications:
Certification in regular education
Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays Autism Spectrum Disorder Speech and Language)
Essential Functions:
Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms
Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services
Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students
Providing services as determined through the IEP process
