• Salary: The starting salary for this position is $130000/annum DOE.

Training

• Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a oneweek orientation where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) must meet the following minimum requirements

• Education:
  • Masters Degree in Behavioral Sciences or Business with four years of experience in a leadership or clinical role.
  • Or Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences or Business with five years of experience in a leadership or clinical role.
• Supervisory Experience:Minimum of two years.
• Interpersonal Skills:Ability to relate to offenders empathetically and promote this interaction among supervised staff.
• Organizational Skills:Proven skills in project management goal planning scheduling time management procedural compliance and policy development.
• Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and writing skills.
• Background Check:Approval for employment from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Montana Department of Corrections.
• Drivers License:Valid Montana drivers license.

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

• Advanced Qualifications:MBA CPA LAC or LCPC.
• Correctional Experience:Experience working in a correctional setting.
• Public Relations:Experience in public relations.
• Technical Skills:Computer literacy.
• Legislative/Political Experience:Experience working with legislature and/or politics.
• HR Knowledge:Knowledge of Human Resources.

Reports to:Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Position Overview:The COO is second in command and responsible for managing daytoday operations of residential and communitybased treatment and supervision programs. This includes policy development and ensuring costeffective evidencebased programming in compliance with various requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Directors of Alpha House Passages Womens Center Compass Substance Abuse Disorder Treatment Program Beta Jail Alternatives Program and Quality Assurance Manager.
• Ensure effective organization time management and recordkeeping.
• Maintain a positive attitude and hold staff accountable.
• Authority to hire and terminate employees in conjunction with the CEO.
• Assist with specified administrative duties.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervise Operations:Manage daily operations of residential and communitybased programs.
• Policy Development:Create and implement evidencebased policies in line with external and contract requirements.
• Agency Vision:Support the development and promotion of the agencys vision mission and goals.
• Relations Management:Maintain positive relationships with contract authorities officials law enforcement judicial bodies correctional agencies and the public.
• Staff Development:Promote staff growth and ensure training compliance.
• Personnel Management:Oversee personnel functions in collaboration with HR.
• Communication:Report agency performance and concerns to the CEO and Board of Directors.
• Program Effectiveness:Ensure program compliance and effectiveness and manage corrective actions.
• Financial Management:Assist in budgeting grant writing financial reviews and maintain costeffective practices.
• Meeting Coordination:Schedule and attend meetings to maintain staff morale and assess performance.
• Board Assistance:Support Board activities and participate in relevant committees.
• Workplace Safety:Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Documentation Compliance:Manage documentation systems to ensure compliance with policies and contracts.
• Public Safety:Prioritize public safety in client management.

• Accrual: Start accruing PTO from your first paycheck. Fulltime 40hour) employees with 02 years of employment accrue 4.65 hours per pay period totaling 15 days a year.
• Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years 5 years and every subsequent 5year mark up to 25 years.
