- Successful completion of a minimum of one year and of a related postsecondary program is required.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Experience working in customer service.
- Experience preparing and presenting classes is an asset.
- Experience in a professional kitchen is an asset.
- Related library experience is an asset.
- Current First Aid Certificate is an asset.

Pay Band:
$26.44 per hour
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.
Note:

- This position will consist of a limited number of varied shifts (which may include evenings and weekends) in June and early July but will be Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm through the remainder of the term.

Great Library Great City Great Opportunity! If you are outgoing enthusiastic and have a passion for working in the community with people of all ages then the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) has a summer position for you!
The focus of this role is to plan and lead activities for seven 7 weeklong Cook Up a Story Summer Camps for kids aged 911 at the Stanley A. Milner Library in July and August. You will have a unique opportunity to lead handson learning experiences in The Kitchen and in The Makerspace facilitate literacybased games crafts and activities and host other special events for participating campers in and around the Library. Working with a professional and supportive team you will gain experience introducing a wide range of EPL resources and services to children while representing EPL and building relationships with community partners.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a variety of classes and literacy activities for children 911 to encourage them to build friendships develop new skills explore the resources of the Library and participate in enriching experiences that fuel their curiosity creativity and love of learning. This includes planning and leading cooking nutrition making and creating and other handson learning classes.
- Collaborate with EPL staff and community partners in planning and leading activities and supervising children.
- Lead children and community partners in the safe operation of equipment and technology in The Kitchen The Makerspace etc. as required.
- Promote Summer Reading Fest (Summer Reading Club) and events.
- Be an EPL ambassador forming positive relationships with camp participants and community partners.
- Prepare nutritional meals and snacks for attendees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
